Men’s Health Awareness Month
The saying “health is wealth” should have a place in the “world book of health records “ , with good health comes no worry and discomfort.
What Is The Importance OF Men’s Health Awareness Month?
The month of November is tagged the “men’s health awareness month” 2023 as its aim is to promote both the physical and mental wellbeing amongst men as it concerns the both.
It is known globally that men die on average 4.5 years earlier than women which is preventable most of the times if they take time to live happier and eat healthier.
It is advisable to go for check ups for early detection of illnesses like prostrate cancer, high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease etc.
Key Regular Health Checkups
the average man pays less attention to his health than the average woman” and this can be prevented with a healthy lifestyle, a healthy diet, reduction of stress and regular checkups and screening.
Nnenaya Agochukwu and Daniela Wittmann in their work “Effects of lifestyle on men’s health” are of the opinion that the concept of being a man lies on self sufficiency, physical strength and mental and emotional toughness and it affects the way they seek help and access to resources.
Early detection, maintaining a healthy diet, exercising regularly, regular medical check ups etc are all ways of staying in check.
More than four out of five CVD deaths are due to heart attacks and strokes and one third of these deaths occur prematurely in people under 70 years of age according to the world health organization.
Reduction of salt in diet, eating more fruits and vegetables, regular exercise, lesser consumption of alcohol etc have been shown to reduce its risk.
When tired endeavor to rest,Speaking to your doctor about your wellbeing and getting screened when necessary is adviceable. You should feel good physically, mentally and emotionally and exercise when you can. Go for a walk.
It hasn’t been heard anywhere that if you surround yourself with family and friends who love you dearly, life gets boring. Men are said to prefer to not speak up and leave life the way it comes which in my opinion should never be so.
If you feel tired, stressed and drained, it is always allowed to take a break and reboot without breaking down entirely, like they always say health is wealth!
